Kohir Deccan is a town and Mandal central station in the Sangareddy region of Telangana, India. Kohir is on the Deccan Plateau in Telangana, neighboring Karnatake state (Bidar). Kohir, Zaheerabad, Bidar, and neighboring spots infers the Red Planet, and the land is typically red streets, red stones on lanes with red houses made of red soil and dark soil in farming area. Kohir was named after the unmistakable red soil of the area. Kohir in neighborhood slang signifies "red precious stone". The "Pati Matti" when blended with water transforms into exceptionally solid material fit for development of multistoried structures. These mud houses are unbreakable and can withstand even the unforgiving atmosphere of this district.
